PARK TAHOE INN WINS CITY OF SOUTH LAKE TAHOE 2008 DESIGN AWARD

(South Lake Tahoe, CA)—The new Park Tahoe Inn, located in South Lake Tahoe, California, has won the 2008 Award of Excellence for Outstanding Design for a Commercial Remodel by the City of South Lake Tahoe. The Park Tahoe Inn was chosen over six other commercial properties in the area.

“The property reflects the efforts of Malibu Hotel Group to bring their high standards for design and exceptional quality of construction to the South Lake Tahoe area, and I am extremely proud of the fact that this has been recognized by the City of South Lake Tahoe,” states Gary Peterson, President of Malibu Hotel Group. “The entire company is deeply honored by this recognition.”

Malibu Hotel Group, which acquired and re-branded The Park Tahoe Inn in 2007, completed a top-to-bottom makeover of the 116-room hotel in a ‘mountain contemporary’ style in 2008, including new furniture, light fixtures, carpeting, drapes, and Tempur-Pedic beds. The exterior, which resembles a rustic alpine lodge, has been upgraded with a resurfaced parking area, fresh paint, and new fencing, pool decks, lighting, and landscaping.

The Award of Excellence for Outstanding Design program was established by the City of South Lake Tahoe in 1995 as a means to recognize new construction projects or major remodels that exemplify outstanding design as defined in the City Design Manual. New commercial construction, commercial remodels, multiple family residential landscape maintenance, and public service projects are eligible to receive the annual award.
